	LifeBlood by Manic Street Preachers Buy used from: £0.04 Extensive use of keyboards makes for a more textured sound than usual. Both energetic and melancholy, this is a better album than The Love of Richard Nixon would have you expect.
	New Adventures in Hi-Fi by REM Buy new: £9.78 / Used from: £0.75 Recorded mostly while the group was on tour, this album has a restless, rootless melancholy about it - like Automatic FTP, but louder.
	Robbie Robertson by Robbie Robertson Buy new: £4.98 / Used from: £4.14 Daniel Lanois' production may be a over-fussy at times, but mostly he adds a nice layer of atmospherics to a rock-solid collection of songs. Quality.
	Sparkle in the Rain by Simple Minds Buy new: £3.98 / Used from: £3.49 This album caught SM in the transition between their New Wave roots, and stadium rock. Sounds like a slightly drugged-up U2 - not quite sure of itself, but a definite grower.
	Achtung Baby by U2 Buy new: £9.78 / Used from: £0.94 Despite the throwaway tunes and some terrible lyrics, this album really captures the edgy excitement of the reunited Berlin where it was recorded.
	Monster by REM Buy new: £6.37 / Used from: £0.01 Here REM turned the amps up to 11, but behind the massive wall of guitar feedback, there was a depth that you didn't get in the earlier albums.
	Know Your Enemy by Manic Street Preachers Buy new: £4.98 / Used from: £0.01 Despite all the filler here (17 tracks? Pur-lease), the furious electric charge of Found That Soul, My Guernica and Freedom of Speech WFMC makes this a must-have for fans of rock with depth.
	We Too Are One [DELUXE DIGIPACK] by Eurythmics Buy new: £4.98 / Used from: £5.90 Not their most memorable collection of songs, but many tracks have a breezy wistfulness that grows on you.
	Wish You Were Here by Pink Floyd Buy new: £5.98 / Used from: £5.50 Full of fab atmospherics and plank-spanking, and with less self-indulgent meandering than usual.
