If your vocal cord had been severed and wrote the weirdest music conventionall possible. All in a good way. Downtown Train is as good a pop song you ever hear. 3 Stars

This see Weller, as always as a solid songwriter, with many of his best songs, however the dodgy middle ie country, those instrumentals, sometimes means the openg 3 tracks are only worthwhile. 3 Stars

The USA answer to "The Bends", over personal, slighlty more depth to the music, and each song a belter. 5 Stars (Best Grunge album ever). Tired of Sex, Good Life, El Scorcho

Enjoyable listen, at the right volume, with some syrupry melodies, but the lyrics are beyond crap, and lyrics are important in a 3 chord band. 3 Stars. Take Control, Slob

A critics choice, "better than lips/pavement" they said, and yes it is a beautifully gorgeous album, short on words though. Essential if just for "Don't I Hold You". 3 Stars
