	Hotel California by Eagles Buy new: £4.51 / Used from: £2.09 Fifth and best studio album. Just as with Dark Side of the Moon and Beethoven's 5th, this is a piece of work that fits together as a whole and is better than any mishmashed greatest hits album.
	The Very Best of the Eagles by Eagles Buy new: £6.00 / Used from: £4.60 If you really want to start with a Best Of, go for this one. But note that it's pre-Hell, so no Hell or Eden. I'd go for the originals if I were you...
	Desperado by Eagles Buy new: £4.97 / Used from: £2.18 Second best "proper" album Desparado (2nd album). Country-flavoured with a Wild West theme underlying everything. Not as good as Hotel but clearly better than all that follows.
	Hell Freezes Over by Eagles Buy new: £4.82 / Used from: £2.49 Yes - it really is that good. Four great new studio tracks plus some jaw dropping live versions of the classics.
	One of These Nights by Eagles Buy new: £4.07 / Used from: £5.74 It's very tight for the next spot but Nights (4th album) snatches it. By now, the Eagles have more of a FM Rock sound to compliment the country sound.
	Long Road Out Of Eden by Eagles Buy new: £4.78 / Used from: £4.09 The new one. I currently rank it just below Nights. Some brilliant tracks but the odd bit of filler (to be expected on a double album). Contrary to rumour, this album isn't copy protected (hooray!)
	Eagles by Eagles Buy new: £4.97 / Used from: £4.15 This is the first album and the most countryish and laid back of them all. Great for listening to on the train after a really hard day.
	Eagles Live by Eagles Buy new: £8.25 / Used from: £7.50 This live outing is a non-essential purchase. Problem is that (unlike HFO) it's all too similar to the studio versions. Go for all six studio albums before thinking about this one.
	The Long Run by Eagles Buy new: £4.97 / Used from: £4.12 This is the 6th studio album and is a big comedown following Hotel. By now, the country side is almost non-existent and it's all very FMy.
	ON THE BORDER by Eagles Buy new: £4.97 / Used from: £4.22 And at the bottom, Border (3rd album). An indecisive step on the journey from country to FM. Still essential though!
