A list of great adventure games (no particular order)
Myst Ultimate Compilation (PC DVD)Myst Ultimate Compilation (PC DVD)
Interestingly different series of games - the puzzles can be very tricky, these aren't the kind of games where you talk to people to find clues, but the worlds are amazing - more so in the later games
Fahrenheit (PS2)Fahrenheit (PS2)

A brilliant game - plays just like a movie and keeps you on the edge of your seat. Would have been nicer if it was a tad longer though but definitely worth a go. Also available for PC & XBox.
Broken Sword I and II: Double Pack (PC DVD)Broken Sword I and II: Double Pack (PC DVD)

An excellent start to the BS series, the puzzles are a little easier and more logical than those in later BS games, but worth playing these 2 first. Love the humour too.
Broken Sword: The Sleeping Dragon (PC CD)Broken Sword: The Sleeping Dragon (PC CD)
Buy new: £3.10 / Used from: £1.90
The third BS game. This one strays from the path of 'point and click' but once you get used to using just the keyboard it works fine. Nice puzzles and good storyline.
Broken Sword: The Angel Of Death (PC DVD)Broken Sword: The Angel Of Death (PC DVD)
Buy new: £4.95 / Used from: £2.98
A good sequel to a fantastic series. This game sees a bit of an update with graphics, and a better control system than in BS3. Main crit is the ending was a bit short and a little disappointing.
The Monkey Island Bounty Pack (PC)The Monkey Island Bounty Pack (PC)
Buy used from: £56.99
Don't be put off by the weird name or the outdated graphics in the first 2 games, you'll be missing out on one of the best adventure series around! Hilarious and contains great puzzles.
Lucas Classic Line: Escape from Monkey Island (PC CD)Lucas Classic Line: Escape from Monkey Island (PC CD)
Buy used from: £9.98
Difficult to get to grips with the controls at first but you can change them to something easier to remember. Slightly more 'random'/less logical puzzles than the other Monkey Island games
Discworld 2Discworld 2
Buy used from: £11.99
I played this on PC so can't comment on PSX controls but it was a great point and click with some random puzzles and good humour. Might be a bit confusing to those who haven't read Discworld books!
Discworld NoirDiscworld Noir

One of my favourite adventure games. The puzzles are not completely obscure, but not simple either. Great soundtrack, fantastic humour and brilliant plot. You don't need to have read the books either!
Syberia (PC)Syberia (PC)
Buy new: £10.08
This game can be quite tricky to find in shops but worth the hunting. The puzzles are a little easier than others on this list but the storyline is engaging and there aren't many 'pointless' puzzles
Syberia 2 (PC)Syberia 2 (PC)
A worthy sequel, but play the first game before this or some of it might not make sense. Easier puzzles than other games in the genre as they can pretty much all be solved logically. Lovely graphics.
The Longest Journey (PC DVD ROM)The Longest Journey (PC DVD ROM)
Buy new: £6.99 / Used from: £6.94
XP compatible (may need to use 98 compatibility though, I did) Inventive storyline, logical puzzles. Deserves its 16+ rating as it has some mild swearing. A very fun (and long!) point & click.
