Listmania!
My Most wanted music for (the rest of) 2008 chronologically
The Man Who Sold the World: RemasteredThe Man Who Sold the World: Remastered by David Bowie
Buy new: £4.98 / Used from: £5.03
I want this one because I recently bought "David Live: Remastered" and I like the songs from this album on it.
Cluster '71Cluster '71 by Cluster
Buy new: £12.48 / Used from: £6.79
I recently bought Musik von Harmonia and I am a fan of Brian Eno (who worked with Cluster later on) so, this looks to be a good idea.
Cluster IICluster II by Cluster
Buy new: £12.99 / Used from: £11.03
This looks to be the follow up album to the above (and this one actually has named tracks of a sensible legnth!)
Aladdin Sane: RemasteredAladdin Sane: Remastered by David Bowie
Buy new: £4.48 / Used from: £5.99
This (although it has undoubtably the most undesirable subject matter) is probably my next Bowie album. Reputidly his best, I AM BUYING IT FOR THE MUSIC, OK?
Here Come the Warm JetsHere Come the Warm Jets by Brian Eno
Buy new: £10.62 / Used from: £8.75
This is Brian Eno, straight out of Roxy Music and into a still flourishing solo career. I could die for the sample of Driving Me Backwards. Glam isn't really my thing (believe it or not) this is good.
Neu! 2Neu! 2 by Neu
Buy new: £7.24 / Used from: £5.82
I have the two other Neu! albums and they are both amazing. This completes the set. The thing about Neu! us that they are built on the same construction-line like repeats as Kraftwerk.
Ralf & FlorianRalf & Florian by Kraftwerk
Buy used from: £29.98
Although this is a bootleg (I always avoid buying bootlegs 'cos if you make great music, you should get paid!) there was never a re-issue. So they're asking for it. I'm hoping this is like Neu!
AutobahnAutobahn by Kraftwerk
Buy used from: £12.75
This appears to be a cheaper, better quality alternative to Ralf & Florian. The title track looks and sounds great. This isn't a bootleg, so if I like it, I know someone, got about 0.1% profit!
Live 1974Live 1974 by Harmonia
Buy new: £18.49
As I said before, I'm a Harmonia fan, and, as you've probably guessed, I love Krautrock and live albums. This has a bit of everything!
ZuckerzeitZuckerzeit by Cluster
Buy used from: £8.88
This is apparently like Harmonia and basicly is. Michael Rother (the third member of Harmonia) produced this album, performed by the other two. I also LOVE the cover art and if the music matches it...
Another Green World: RemasteredAnother Green World: Remastered by Brian Eno
Buy new: £9.40 / Used from: £8.75
Brian Eno's first solo ambient outing, this is apparently a work of art. The cover design is great and I like the ideas behind it. The title track is amazing! Brian Eno truly is a genius. Have to buy!
De LuxeDe Luxe by Harmonia
Buy new: £14.49 / Used from: £8.01
Second album that I don't like the sound of much, but, I'm willing to take a risk. If it has Michael Rother AND Cluster, surely, Harmonia can't have made a bad record?
La DüsseldorfLa Düsseldorf by La Dusseldorf
Buy new: £14.49 / Used from: £8.57
This is Klaus Dinger's first non Neu! or Kraftwerk album. Looks great but no samples! I'm hoping this is like the B-side of Neu! '75.
Tracks & TracesTracks & Traces by Harmonia 76
Buy used from: £29.95
Eno AND Harmonia teamed up for this. Oh my god this is going to be great. This is the result of Harmonia sessions in 1976 with Brian Eno. Should be amazing but is it?
Cluster and EnoCluster and Eno by Cluster
Buy new: £14.31 / Used from: £6.93
Cluster and Eno. Great. But I don't particularly like its sound. I will probably like it though.
Flammende Herzen [Us Import]Flammende Herzen [Us Import] by Michael Rother
Buy new: £18.73 / Used from: £6.86
Michael Rother is a genius. Anybody with their head skrewed on knows that. This is his first solo and I'm salivating just thinking about it.
Durch die WüsteDurch die Wüste by Hans Joachim Roedelius
Buy used from: £37.99
This sounds great. It's Hans-Joachim Roedelius's first solo album (try saying that when you're drunk!) and sounds great. No idea what the title means but I hope to find out (Through the Sausage?)
Stage: Live/RemasteredStage: Live/Remastered by David Bowie
Buy used from: £7.75
I love the Berlin Trilogy. Low is my favourite record ever. It suprises me that I havn't bought this before. I think I will, soon.
The Shutov AssemblyThe Shutov Assembly by Brian Eno
Buy new: £10.07 / Used from: £7.19
I love the sinister sounds on this ambient album. I have to buy but I'm unsure. Ah well. Shutov assembly has great artwork. I should buy a painting by the artist, Dmitri Shutov (I think).
VersionVersion by Mark Ronson
Buy new: £4.66 / Used from: £3.39
I like the Jazzed up remixes on this CD. This sounds great, Mark Ronson deserves his Brit.
Works 1968-2005Works 1968-2005 by Hans Joachim Roedelius
Buy new: £7.98 / Used from: £7.12
I haven't bought Roedelius before so a "Best of..." collection seems the natural thing to buy. BUT, I wish it was only a best of his solo work as all the other solo CD are very costly, has Cluster to
Faust/So FarFaust/So Far by Faust
Buy new: £10.47 / Used from: £6.56
Cheaper than buying the two seperate albums and it would finish off Faust's 4 classic albums (I have the other 3). Sounds great.
RadioRadio by Michael Rother
Buy new: £14.49 / Used from: £12.50
This singles collection is kind of like a best of. It has 2 tracks for every album from 1977 to 1992. It has bad cover art but that doesn't really matter.
All Saints: Collected Instrumentals 1977-1999All Saints: Collected Instrumentals 1977-1999 by David Bowie
Buy new: £2.33 / Used from: £1.99
I've always loved David Bowie's instrumentals. This looks to be te collection to get, so I will.
Varèse: Complete Works, Vol.2Varèse: Complete Works, Vol.2
Buy used from: £11.69
I stumbled across this accidentally a while back. Although I don't usually go for classical, this is more like industrial music and its cheap! Great!
