This is probably one of those rare indies that can be enjoyed by a mass audience but still retain a signature weirdness.

Not entirely realistic but its a great feel good movie all the same.

A brilliant character driven film about the relationship between a teenage boy coming to terms with his sexuality & his 'friend' a peadophile. The two central performances are outstanding

A very well acted film documenting a teenage girl spiralling out of control.

Although about a twelve year old, its so good i couldn't not put it on the list.

I'd put this in the same catagory as 'Juno' & 'Thumbsucker'. Its a great feel good movie that'll have you rooting for the lead actor throughout.

Probably my least favourite on the list. It's still entertaining, but I wouldn't advise you to buy it; rent or borrow it instead.

Gus Van Sant's work is for an acquired taste. If you can tolerate long walking sequences, lack of plot & ameteur acting you'll be able to get the best out of this film.

The most mainstream movie on the list, but I don't think a lot of 21st century teens have seen this. 'The Breakfast Club' is extremely pretentious & at times boring, but its worth a watch.

The witty dialogue in this dark comedy is enough to satisfy anyone, even if the concept of the film is totally unbelieveable.

A great movie that stars the beautiful Keanu Reeves, a must see for all fans.

The only Brit-flick on the list, this gives the world a great view of the lives of London's 'chav'/knife culture.
