	The Last King Of Scotland [DVD] [2006] Buy new: £4.78 / Used from: £0.99 One of the best films I have seen this year. Forest Whitaker deservers his Oscar. James McAvoy is very much a talent to watch.
	Spirited Away [DVD] [2001] Buy new: £6.98 / Used from: £4.97 Probably the best of Hayao Miyazaki's films, from the Ghibli studio. Watch the original Japanese language version with subtitles.
	Mission Impossible 3 (Single Disc) [DVD] [2006] Buy new: £3.88 / Used from: £0.01 Phew! Edge of your seat stuff, I felt exhausted after watching this!
	Casino Royale (2 Disc Collector's Edition) [2006] [DVD] Buy used from: £0.44 Daniel Craig proved all the doubters wrong. He IS James Bond and he is an actor to boot. The opening sequence is just gobsmackingly amazing!
	In The Mood For Love (Special Edition 2 Disc) [DVD] [2000] Buy new: £6.98 / Used from: £5.99 This is a beautiful film with a fantastic soundtrack. Directed by Wong Kar Wei - watch his sequel 2046.
	United 93 [DVD] [2006] Buy new: £4.28 / Used from: £0.39 Directed by Paul Greengrass, this is an amazing and intelligent docu-drama
	Walk the Line [DVD] [2005] Buy new: £4.08 / Used from: £0.96 Even if you're not a massive fan of Johnny Cash, this is a must-see for Joaquin Phoenix's mesmerising performance, ably matched by Reece Wetherspoon. And they can both sing.
	Sideways [DVD] [2004] Buy new: £4.58 / Used from: £0.01 Why doesn't the US make more films like this? Paul Giamatti and Thomas Haden Church star in this beautifully observed study of human foibles. A must see, whether you like Pinot Noir or not!
	An Inconvenient Truth [DVD] [2006] Buy new: £3.98 / Used from: £2.20 From the man who should have been President! There is no hiding from the truth. This is powerful stuff. Shame it takes images of drowning polar bears to get folks to sit up and take notice...

	No Country For Old Men [DVD] [2007] Buy new: £4.58 / Used from: £2.39 I don't normally watch films like this - I haven't the stomach for violence but Javier Bardem's performance is outstanding and you can always avert your eyes, like I did! A must-see.
	Love On A Branch Line [DVD] Buy new: £8.98 / Used from: £7.95 Charming comedy with stellar cast - Michael Maloney really deserves wider recognition.

	Persepolis [2008] [DVD] Buy new: £4.48 / Used from: £4.15 This film really brought Marjane Satrapi's book alive - amazing.
	Becoming Jane [DVD] [2006] Buy new: £3.98 / Used from: £1.79 It may not be based on fact but it is a lovely film nevertheless - James McAvoy walks it and Anne Hathaway is very becoming.
	An Ideal Husband [DVD] [1999] Buy new: £3.88 / Used from: £2.09 A must for Oscar Wilde fans, this is one of my favourite feel-good films. Rupert Everett is dashing, Minnie Driver is feisty and Julianne Moore is the femme fatale.
	Transformers (2007) [DVD] Buy new: £3.98 / Used from: £2.29 This is not just for boys although I must say most of the audience in the cinema were male! Shia LeBoeuf is a very talented young man.
