Buy used from: £2.79 An example of how something that shouldn't work does. I don't like Willie Nelson, and yet here is a tribute album on which I like almost every track. My favourite track by far is Jerry Cantrell's.

Buy new: £12.69 / Used from: £4.20 A bit hit and miss - but the hits really are hits. Could have done with Manson's cover of 5 to 1, but still some great versions on this cd. Days of the New particularly stand out.

Buy used from: £7.46 Some truly inspired tracks from a cover band made up of remants from Failure and Tool. Basically, if Ken Andrews is involved, it's probably criminally good - and criminally overlooked!

Buy new: £10.88 / Used from: £6.20 Because of it's subdued and understated mood, this album gets a lot of bad reviews - but there are some really good covers on here! Imagine, What's Going On, & People Are People all standout tracks.

Buy new: £8.79 / Used from: £3.17 APC's cover of People Are People would have fitted on here nicely. An eclectic mix of artists and covers, which mostly work well. Failure's cover of Enjoy The Silence is my personal favourite.

Buy new: £9.98 / Used from: £2.64 Who would have thought this could work so well? Some of the takes on childrens' TV theme tunes here are inspired! Sublime's cover of Hong Kong Phooey is brilliant (and I don't even like Sublime)!

Buy used from: £2.15 Like the Craft, not just covers, but the best Christmas album I've ever heard! Henry Rollins' take on Twas The Night Before Christmas more than makes up for the duds that appear later on.

Buy new: £7.68 Lucky us - the American version of this best of does not have the second disc of covers, and how interesting they are. Laidback, minimalist, alt-rock versions of songs like Sweet Child O' Mine!

Buy used from: £1.73 An impressive undertaking - the songs of Split Enz performed by the NZ Symphony Orchestra, a choir, and some Kiwi legends (Neil & Tim Finn, among others).

Buy new: £3.98 / Used from: £3.99 Not so much a tribute as a pastiche - this is so much more than a novelty album, with instantly recognisable parodies of artists and composers.
