There are several mixes of this album, one 'all in the red', the most recent a bit more mild but still takes getting used to. H'ever terrible production does little to detract from many fine songs.

The remaining giants of the blues performing in intimate surroundings, Howlin' Wolf watching, with obvious jealousy, a mature Skip James giving the performance of a lifetime. Stunning.

Lou still at his peak, Bowie, Herbie Flowers and great songs. An album I've over-played for 14 years and still do not tire of.

The first album I bought at 10 years old. It blew me away then and now, as a 'mature' listener I still admire it. 'Mr Brownstone' and 'Rocket Queen' current personal favourites.

Certainly not fond of their current 'style' but this album still cracks. Brilliant stuff.

Was going to list 'Ballads' but saw this and couldn't resist. Not quite 'Love supreme' but still a superb be-bop album, suffused with soul and blues. Another document of Coltrane's broad vision.

Wicked stuff. Raises the ground one might say. The ultimate in intelligent, laid back, technically perfect pimp sounds. Ahhhh!

In spite of the unbearably cheesy cover (words cannot express how much it annoys me) there are some fine tracks here from an era where new bands churn out nowt but bland drivel. Well done 'lads'.

Musically inflexible perhaps but who cares. He wrote and performed country music that was actually good and at his best was quite remarkable.

A master of style and a distinctive blues artist. The 'Bo Beat' influenced some of the best Smiths' songs.

Influenced and survived Johnson, this man is a Daddy of blues. 'Death letter' a must for any blues lover.
