Perhaps THE most woefully overlooked album of the 90s. Pre-Pulp Richard Hawley, Crispin Hunt's angst-tinged vocals, and some of the best tunes of the so-called 'Britpop' era. Utterly brilliant.

Now, sadly, perhaps best remembered for the 'It's Your Letters' tune on TFI Friday. This, their debut, was loud, proud, west-country salty blues-rock. I love it.

I first heard the track 'Teenage Sensation' from a friend at school, and had to find the album. Quirky, uniquely British hip hop/soul/dance/funk fusion. Ahead of its time.

The track 'Six Underground' was everywhere, but the rest of this album has so much more to offer. Trip-hop, rock and dance all meld together seamlessly. Great stuff.

Lynden David Hall was the UK's answer to D'Angelo and Maxwell. But better. Sweet, soulful, and smooth...a huge talent, taken away far too early.

I couldn't have a list of the greatest 90s albums without including one of the best 90s bands: still one of the most creative bands in Britain, this album shows why.
