How young Marling hasn't broken the mainstream is beyond me. Brilliant poppy folk album.

Love them, loathe them, but you sure as hell can't ignore them. Death Magnetic was the return to form they've been due for so long. Awesome.

'Cloud of Unknowing' was at the top of this list last year; the sheer joy of finding his music lifted it. It's a no lesser album to it's predecessor. More stunning 12 string guitar compositions.

Brilliant two-piece blues band in the vein of the Black Keys - but they're girls... and they're a lot better...

I only got into Pavement this year (shame on me!) and Malkmus' solo stuff is a lot more free flowing a jammy than Pavement, yet still poppy and catchy as hell. How can I complain!?

I just can't get enough of Clutch. Although it's not a complete show and isn't a great replacment for actually seeing them live, the tunes & performance are still as fantastic as ever.

Unfortunately Amazon don't stock Colour Haze's latest album; ALL. A trippy, heavily 70s inspired journey through stoner rock. Great stuff.

Another doom album. Unearthly Trance have been around for a while and they show it with their latest ear pummeling. Mixing in more black metal with their trudging doom this time.

This was a massive disappointment for me, coming after three unbelievable releases. Yet, if you take a step back, you realise it's still a great album.
