Quite simply brilliant!
These headphons are just quite simply astonishing.
First of all the build quality is unmatched, they are extremely well put together, and everything is one hundred percent secure.
As an electric sound engineer by trade, it's my job to recognize good quailty auido equipment when i hear it, and this is definetely just that. Upon inspection of the circuitry i found that all was perfectly in order, the soldering was very neat, as was the wiring, and everything seemed very competently assembled. These headphones also look the part, they come in a range of colours (mine are silver and blue) and all the colours look very nice, the swivelling cups allow for one ear moniitoring, and for the headband to to rest on your neck, which looks considerabley more discreet and more stylish.
As for the sound, i was quite simply astonished when i heard them, these are by design DJ headphones, but are magnificently versatile and can be used for almost anything.
The sound reproduction on these heasphones is amazing, the 50mm drive unit delivers great volume, and the closed supra-aural cup design allows for complete noise cancellation, totally blocking out outside noise.
I primarily use these headphones for practicing my Bass Guitar silently, and they cope with the bass brilliantly. The bass reproduction is so sharp, yet so low and punchy, thanks to the neodymium magnets, they cope with the bass solo they can even handle very low tunings, even a downtuned low B!
The treble is alos astiundinlgy crisp, and a combination of all these crystal clear sound reproductions adds up to a pair of marvellous headphones that will give you the best possible sound for the price.
There are better headphones available, but not for the same price, £70 is very low, £30 under Sony's R.R.P
So, in conclusion these Headphones may be designed for DJ's, but they will work for just about anything, and are brilliant for just enjoying your music at its very possible best!
Great headphones
I have battered these headphones at over 40 something DJ shows and they are still in full working order - in fact, they have lasted better than any Sennheiser ones I have had. Loses a star in rating as the sound is not so great compared to things like Sennheiser, but at a show, I'm not listening for sound quality - I'm looking for sound insulation, flexibilty and durability. No headphones are indestructable - believe me, I've spent £150 on many a headphone and found out - but these are great value for money for my particular use.
Excellent Headphones
I bought these headphones after testing them in my local Sony Centre and was blown away. The sound is brilliant, with excellent clarity and bass. I honestly noticed sounds in some of my favorite songs that I had never noticed before!
The one thing I would highlight to anyone thinking of buying these is that there are a lot of fake / Japanese versions flying around. I was caught out by one such marketplace seller, who claimed to be selling the identical Z700DJ (japanese version) headphones. After I recieved them I found the quality was nothing like the ones I tries in the shops (both build quality and sound), and after a bit of messing around he agreed to take them back and give a refund. I'm not 100% sure, but I reckon they were fakes, so I'd caution anyone who is looking at these headphones not to be taken in by the low prices on offer and to get the real things directly from Amazon. Also if you do decide to buy them from Amazon Marketplace sellers then make sure you read all the feedback the person has recieved and if there is any hint of accusations about fakes then steer well clear.
I don't mean to put anyone off these headphones because they are brilliant, but if you can afford the extra, I would get them from Amazon not the Marketplace sellers.
