Manufacturer's Description:
Turn on, tune in & experience the High Definition revolution that is hitting the country. Bringing you around four times more detail than a standard television set, it is not hard to see why people are left astounded by the picture quality offered by HD Ready sets, and this one could be yours in no time at all. This Digihome 26 Widescreen LCD boasts an HDMI input and so offers you true High Definition TV with a resolution of 720p/1080i, compared to only 625i on a standard analogue TV. Imagine breathtaking picture detail that defines every blade of grass and combine this with a wonderful array of colours unlike anything you could possibly experience on a standard TV set. This is the future & you are being given the opportunity to bring the future into your home.
The high-definition ready, 1,366 x 768 WXGA LCD panel uses the latest panel technology and features a high 600:1 contrast ratio, giving you better subtle colour details and the ability to see the picture in bright light conditions. The 25-millisecond response time means it's capable of handling fast-moving action without image blur or lag.
The 16:9 widescreen aspect ratio is the best for viewing HDTV and DVDs so you can have a more realistic cinema experience, but the TV has zoom modes for viewing 4:3 analogue broadcast TV and pan-and-scan-formatted video. Powerful speakers (2x 10w) sit on either side of the active-matrix TFT LCD, giving you full NICAM stereo sound without needing to connect to an external speaker system.
Other features include an amazing 170-degree horizontal and 170-degree vertical viewing angle, 100 preset channels, Autostore for easy tuning, child lock, multi-language onscreen display, sleep timer, integrated tuner and RF jack for terrestrial reception, ergonomic remote control, and an anti-reflective screen. Want to do more than just watch TV? The Digihome has an HDMI input, 2 rear SCART sockets for connecting up devices such as video games consoles, DVD players and external FREEVIEW set top boxes.

Great Value
Bought this just under two weeks ago; the model I have has a black surround to the screen, but is otherwise as pictured and described.
The picture quality is very good; I now have it setup with an HD source and it looks lovely. You can adjust brightness, contrast, sharpness and colour as well as colour temperature and a few other settings in order to get the picture right for your room. However the picture will only ever be as good as the input signal, so make sure you have a decent source.
The sound quality is less good and will disappoint if you want to seriously watch film or listen to music. There is a dynamic base and surround features, as well as an equaliser - but I can't find a decent setting to be able to use these for all programme types. Looking through the ventilation holes in the cabinet, the speakers are tiny - one 2-3" speaker on either side! It's fine for most TV watching, but don't expect anything special.
So overall, great value for money with plenty of connections. Recommended if you want a second set or just want a TV for the living room. If you are really serious about your film/music/etc. then you will certainly want a separate audio system, but may want to look at another set anyway.
Utterly awesome TV for its price.
I can't find one glaring fault with this tv. I'll go over all you need to know.
Connections - Component, HDMI, AV, 2x SCART, S-video, RF.
It looks incredible with Xbox 360, And with the component connection, this TV will be perfect for Wii. My Gamecube was gorgeous through my official RGB cable. PS2 looks killer through all connections tested, and I imagine with both component and HDMI, the PS3 will look perfect too.
If you're looking for the cheapest and best HDTV option at a decent size, then look no further.
Digihome HD review 26
I bought this TV last week, and so far have been quite satisfied with the picture quality on standard reception (analogue), but the set is tuned through my Sony DVD recorder, which gives a very clear and well balanced colour rendition, and is probably better than with the built in tuner of the Digihome receiver. to get full HD reception it is either necessary to sign up to the Sky HD set top box with subscription or get a Pace DS 810XE HD satellite box, which can receive 2 free to air HD transmissions.
However the sound on the Digihome set, while not bad is nothing to shout about, but can be improved considerably with a 5:1 surround sound speaker system , which you can buy online quite cheaply.
one drawback of the Digihome, and indeed most other LCD TVs, is that they use a lot of current (Digihome uses 160 watts, and gets very warm after just 30 minutes). Sets need to be much more energy efficient, but in standby the set is using only 3 watts, and the instructions advise you to switch off completely each night or when not in use for a period. I did look at other types of HD sets,(some were without HDMI connect) but only those above £900 were much better. you only get what you pay for ultimately.
