Customer Reviews
H.G Wells would be proud of this.
Read the positive reviews with a slight pinch of salt, but having bought this I must say I am very impressed.
Sound quality is just fantastic, especially from such a small unit, as it filled my room with sound better than my HI-FI.
Dont know really what I expected, but it did exceed my expectations. Set up was easy, and as mentioned about iPod - Just select shuffle and it stops it from playing first track every time you use it. I would recomend this unit as it really is a very smart system that sounds just great... Very impressed.
Response to radio queries
A few reviews have mentioned the On Time only tuning to even numbers... there is a setting to change this. Under radio you can set to USA or European tuning standards. Set to Europe and voila - access to 97.1 and other 'odd numbered' frequencies.
Really Excellent - Shame about the compatibility issue with Video Ipods
This is a truly excellent sounding set of speakers and clock radio to boot. This really does what it says on the tin, and is a nice quality product in the old Harman Kardon mold - for those that remember this name for the "real HiFi" area. Yes its very stylish, yes it's a little glam and plastic - but it really does look and sound good
All features/functions seem to work superbly with my 3G iPod.
HOWEVER - if you want to wake up to your selected song - or just resume a previously playing song/album, having powered off your device - its unlikely to work properly with a 5G Video iPod (mine doesn't work with 1.2 software - it just resets to the first track of your first album). Apple and JBL/HK know about the problem - just look at the Apple newsgroups - but it has not been fixed yet - so check when you are reading this to see if this will still be a problem for you.
This is more of a problem than it sounds when you consider there is no way to navigate the iPod other than using the clickwheel (the JBL has no remote); So you are forced to clumsily try and use the iPod whilst docked, potentially straining the connector...
