Customer Reviews
Very good but not perfect
This product seems to be the result of an excellent idea, but implemented on a shoe string. Fortunately they saved the R&D budget on the minor things and spent the money where it matters. Sound quality is very good for its size and more than adequate for a clock radio. Design & build quality is excellent. So good in fact that I'm considering buying three more for the other bedrooms and another one for the kitchen. It's solid, heavy and you could be forgiven for thinking it had been designed by Apple themselves.
It has dual alarms which will wake you up to either your favourite radio station (capacity for 4 preset channels), your iPod playlist, or a buzzer. Customisable snooze and sleep modes and a very attractive display.
The menu system is reminiscent of the iPod Mini but not as cognitive and that's where this bit of kit is spoilt. Tuning the radio is a chore with no auto tune and what's more, the you need to rotate the shiny jog-wheel hundreds of times to advance through the frequencies.
Don't be put off though. The peeves in this product are pretty much confined to the setup rather than the daily use and once you've spent an hour setting it up for the first time, it's a very nice bit of kit indeed.
If you're in the market for iPod/Clock radio, I'm not sure that there's anything better on the market today... Certainly not for this kind of money.
Great iPod clock radio
I have been using my Luna for a month or so. The sound quality of the unit is excellent. What I really like: alarm setup and usier interface in general. The two alarms can be set up to fm, am, aux or ipod. The volume can be programmed to ramp up over a period up to a minute, display brightness is variable, snooze time can be set. Exactly what I wanted an alarm clock to do. iPod setup works well allowing a track or playlist to be preselected on the iPod. The remote control works well. The missing star is because the fm quality, while much better than a traditional clock radio, is not quite up to the standard of the rest of the unit. Having said that I use the fm radio option every day on one of the alarms and am perfectly happy with it. oh.. and it looks good too!
Great Bedside Clock Radio!
This is the best soudning clock radio I've ever had. It comes nicely packaged (without a manual tho). Settings can be done very easily using the chrome wheel. I love the fact that they provide different types of plug so you can bring the machine abroad without worrying about having to buy an adaptor.
Integration with the iPod is flawless. The remote is fully functional and allows you to even change playlist and change the bass and trebal etc. Screen dimmer function is great and so are the alarms. The only negative thing I have to say about this machine is that it has relatively poor FM reception and no auto-tuning. So if you're a frequent radio listener, I suggest you purchase a quality atenna. Overall, a quality 4 star product with great design, sound (comparable to Bose SoundDock!) and functionality at a really affordable price (ive bought mine for a little over 60 quids!). HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
