Powered from the in-car power socket and easily attached to your windscreen with a removable flexible mount (just like a sat nav), Highway receives DAB stations and re-transmits them to your car radio on a free FM frequency. Simply tune your car radio to the FM frequency shown on Highway’s display to listen to DAB or your iPod/MP3 player. Highway is packed with great, easy-to-use features such as ReVu™ to pause and skip back through live DAB radio, quickSCAN to find free FM transmission frequencies, and 4 FM transmission presets (synchronize these withyour car radio’s FM presets to make avoiding interference a breeze). You can even take Highway from the car when your journey’s over and carry on listening using headphones*. Whether you want to enjoy the digital stations in-car that you do at home, listen to your iPod/MP3 player on the move, or just discover DAB, Highway brings a lot more entertainment to your journey. * headphones not included. |
| Highway installation in 4 easy steps DAB digital radio is not just for listening to at home. PURE Highway is an easy-to-fit in-car DAB adapter that brings the increased station choice, quality and convenience of DAB digital radio into your vehicle. |
![]() | Step 1 - Peel off the backing from the high-sensitivity adhesive aerial and attach to the windscreen. To optimise reception, position the signal amplifier (the black plastic case) and the dual aerial wires 3 to 5cm away from the side of the windscreen and 1 to 2cm from the top. If possible, tuck the aerial cable into the recess between your windscreen and the passenger pillar or affix it to your windscreen using the adhesive clips provided. Then run the aerial cable out of sight along the front of your dashboard. Once the aerial is fitted where you want it on the windscreen, using the cable supplied, attach the aerial to the Highway. Note: the adhesive windscreen aerial is only suitable for one use and will not re-adhere to the windscreen. You may wish to affix the aerial using a temporary adhesive first to test the quality of reception before attaching the aerial permanently. |
![]() | Step 2 - Next you need to attach the magnetic flexible mount via its suction fixing to the windscreen. First, clean the area you are attaching the suction cup to with a dry cloth then peel off the transparent film from the suction cup. Press the suction cup firmly against the windscreen to form an airtight seal and push down the catch to securely fasten the mount to the windscreen once you have the mount in the desired position. |
![]() | Step 3 - If necessary, coil any excess aerial cable around the cable tidy on the back of the mount and then insert the aerial jack into the aerial input on the Highway unit. Attach the Highway unit to the flexible windscreen mount via the magnetic fitting. Optional: If you want to connect Highway to your car radio’s line in input (if available) connect a 3.5mm audio cable (not supplied) from the ‘LINE OUT’ socket on the Highway unit to your car radio’s line in input. |
![]() | Step 4 - Insert the power cable into the mini-USB socket on the side of the Highway unit and then insert the adapter into your vehicle’s 12–24V (cigarette lighter) external power socket. Your Highway is now fully installed and ready for tuning and setting up with your favourite stations. Remember, when installing Highway, make sure you fit the unit and aerial in a position that does not obscure the driver’s view or in such a way that it may interfere with the safe operation of the vehicle, the deployment of air bags or other safety equipment. For safety reasons, do not operate the unit while driving. |

| With Digital Audio Broadcast (DAB) you’ll discover a broader range of music, debate and ideas, all in crystal clear digital sound. |
Ease-Of-Use
Digital radios are much easier to use than analogue radios because they automatically search for all available stations. Once the radio has found all the available stations you just choose the one you want by name. No more trying to remember frequencies.
Wider Station Choice
With up to 55 DAB stations available in many areas, and more on the way, you’ll be spoilt for choice. As well as existing favourites like BBC radios 1-4, BBC radio 5 live, Classic FM and talkSPORT, there are also great exclusive-to-digital stations such as BBC 1Xtra, BBC 5 live Sports Extra, BBC 6 Music, BBC 7 and Planet Rock.
Digital Sound Quality
DAB is crackle-clear and hiss-free because it’s not subject to the same interference as analogue radio.
DAB Stations
There's more listening choice on DAB too. These great stations and many more are available in the UK on DAB digital radio. As DAB coverage varies, remember to check which stations are available in your area.

Finally a cheap DAB in car option
What I love about this...
Its really easy to set up. Once you get the aerial sorted you literally just plug it in and away you go
Its really cheap. Cheaper than most equivalent quality portable DAB radios and definitely cheaper than getting a DAB radio fitted in the car
Its easy to use, same as usual with Pure products
The sound quality is great. I've had no probs with DAB reception so far, although I've not been out of town with it yet
Its easy to find a interference free FM channel for it to transmit on as it hunts for a free one rather than you having to do it yourself. It also transmits using RDS so I'm hoping I won't have to get it to find another if I move into another area (not sure about this though)
You can pause rewind live radio which is a bonus as well
There is one minor annoyance though. As a reviewer has said before, you have to have the Highway pluged into the cigarette lighter to get it to transmit on FM (although I think it will work whilst plugged into my PC as well) this means you have to have the trailing wire between the unit and the lighter which is a bit irritating.
All in all however its a great unit and I am really pleased that I can finally get DAB in my car without having to spend a fortune.
Decent DAB in the car
I got this for my birthday in April, and its first outing was my journey home from the Lake District to London. I had the aerial bluetacked to the dashboard as I didn't know where I wanted it and the reception was great all the way home apart fom a short section near Birmingham. I didn't bother with the windscreen holder, I bought a cheap USB lead to power it and use velcro to stick it on the dashboard where I can easily reach it to change channels. The sound is great, I'd really recommend it.
Superb piece of kit!
Hock your grandmothers mobility scooter to get one of these! At last DAB is finding it's way into cars where it is needed. Now you can listen to a football match without Alan Green croaking to death. You can also listen to Virgin in quality and use the unit as a portable DAB in the house and garden. Be aware it uses a (fairly discreet) aerial sticking to the windscreen and if they had made the aerial cable 9 inches longer I could have had the aerial on the passenger side and the holder on the right of my steering wheel. Save one of the cable stickers for to cover the superbright red led on the cigarette lighter plug. But I'm being picky! Buy one now and find a reason to go for a drive when a match is on!
