There's a better option
On the face of it this little accessory seems very useful. It plugs straight into an iPhone or iPod and doesn't take up too much room. However it doesn't deliver much of a power boost; it wouldn't fully recharge an iPhone for instance. So a much better choice is the larger and more powerful Kensington battery pack and charger. It not only delivers more power, it can be used to recharge phones with a mini-USB socket such as the Blackberry. So the larger Kensington battery is much more versatile and useful and is recommended.

Kensington Battery for iPhone/iPod
Great product, does what it says on the tin! Frustrated at how quickly my iPhone's battery would run down, I looked at a number of external power options. In the end I decided on the Kensington Mini Battery Pack and Charger as it could be kept in a pocket and would work with my iPhone or iPod when needed. I thought this would be ideal for work and leisure use, as it only added bulk to the iPhone/iPod when really necessary.

Avoid
I bought this from another supplier about a month ago and in the last week it has died. It is still possible to charge my iPhone through it but the battery does not charge or pass a charge to the iPhone.
