Synopsis
Tom Berenger stars as a curmudgeonly woodcarver who helps make a young boy's Christmas dream come true in this inspiring film. The woodcarver is charged with helping the boy recreate a wooden Nativity scene that once belonged to his dead father. Their relationship starts out a rocky one, but soon blossoms into something that helps them both to move on. This heart-warming tale is based on the bestselling children's book by Susan Wojciechowski.

Customer Reviews

Lovely film but tissues required!5
Delighted to see this is out on DVD. I saw this film at a charity screening and thought it was a perfect `Christmas Eve on the sofa' movie. In truth it offers a lot more than that - a great story, and very gently done throughout, successfully avoided falling into the schmaltz trap. Ultimately uplifting, but sensitive viewers may require a good box of tissues on the way there

Really touching!5
Watched this film with my 4 year old son and 11 year old nephew. My 4 year old really enjoyed it but drifted away at parts where I think some of the implied stuff was a little beyond him. He loved the Christmassy scenes at beginning and end. My nephew really enjoyed the film (as did I) and had nothing negative to say about it. Lovely, touching family film that's perfect to snuggle up with over the Christmas period.

The Christmas Miracle of Jonathan Toomey4
This was a good family film that was easy watching and well acted. It is a hear warming story that links well with the book and will please viewers who liked the Road to Avonlea and Anne of Green Gables type of story.
