Ok for beginners but not much else3
This book is great in general, but does not contain any international ponies and/or later ponies (released 1997 onwards). It does contain a price guide, but it's inaccurate, as regular collectors will know that some of the ponies are underpriced and some are overpriced.

Some of the information is inaccurate, and some of the pictures are inaccurate (if anyone reading this who owns it, there are pictures of Peachy - a pony - who is described as having pink hearts and in the picture has white hearts). It is ok for a starter out or for showing relatives/non pony collectors etc what they look like so that they can look out for examples at car boots etc.

I dont think this fullfils it's role as a guide, there is a website which does a better role out there. If it had international ponies and variations, without the price guide, then it would fufill it's role as a complete guide. I still think it's worth it's money though, but should not be treated as a complete guide.

Excellent - an essential for any pony lover !4
I bought this book to assist with identification of ponies for collection. It has certainly done that - and more! The book is set out in a clear and organised way, accompanied by well styled and clear pictures. I've used it as both a reference book and to sit back and flick through for pure enjoyment. If only I had a collection like the author! It is almost perfect, the only thing that would improve the book would be the inclusion of other UK and worldwide ponies as well as US. Overall,a great read and a must for any pony lover and collector.
