Buy yourself a good book instead3
I bought this after a couple of months playing Hold'Em online and enjoying a few live games. It was my first foray into getting some advice of how to play the game. Whilst this is a good intro into Texas Hold'Em for novice players with simple explanations of the structure and basic strategies of the game, it falls short in a lot of areas. John Thomson adds his own brand of humour to it which is enjoyable and makes aspects of his "teachings" more memorable; however, more examples are needed and when he does talk about strategy it is extremely basic and really leaves you wanting more... but not enough to buy the follow-up (if there is one?)

The DVD game is nothing short of appalling. It is so agonisingly slow with little or no soundtrack that it gives no sense of the real game and if it was your first intro to Hold'Em would probably put you off.

I can't help thinking that this whole 2 set DVD was a bit rushed in the production - so much more could have been done with the format. I naively thought that a DVD was the best way to learn more about Texas Hold'Em - I was wrong. A good Sklansky or Brunson is worth its weight (literally) in gold.

Not so Redhot DVD1
Run for the hills, or give your money to someone sat outside the underground with a dog, but don't waste your money on this!

The interactive game has to be seen to be believed, and I actually used to like John Thomson, but after this he has really gone down in my estimation.

This is real poor
