An excellent manual on buying property in France
This book details everything one could wish to know about buying a home in France, and also includes a vast range of other information on such things as renting property, insurance, taxation, work, and much more. If I have one reservation, it's that the author's "warts and all" approach is rather frightening in places: scarcely a page goes by without dire warnings about what can go wrong, and the consequences if it does. Plenty of foreigners buy french property without a hitch, so don't be put off by the frequent caveats!
The must-have book for potential house buyers in France.
Having decided to go for it and buy a house in France, I saw this book advertised and thought I had better read it. It was definitely money well spent. Buying a house in France is very different from over here and this book alerts you to all the potential pitfalls and costly disasters that can befall you if you don't know exactly what you are doing. Thankfully, with several very helpful pieces of information from this book I am now the proud owner of a beautiful house in France. Thank God for David Hampshire!
A wonderful book crammed with facts and figures
I found this a wonderful book crammed with facts and figures, with a straightforward approach to the problems and pitfalls you are likely to encounter. The whole laced with humour and a thorough understanding of what's involved. Gets my vote!
