Customer Reviews

Essential sensible, well-researched and impartial advice, of course5
Lives up to Which?'s reputation for clear, low-jargon advice which explains all the processes, tells you what you need to do and what everyone else will do, and discusses the pros and cons of all the different options.

This edition (though there have been many) is nice and up-to-date, with some analysis of the impact of the 2008 credit crunch on the housing market and what the possible outcomes over the next couple of years could mean for buyers and sellers.

If, like me, you're a first time buyer, or if it's been a while since you had to do any of this stressful stuff, a couple of hours digesting this book could be the answer to feeling calm and confident about going about it all without falling into any common pitfalls or traps. It certainly was for me.

Overly-wordy, but helpful4
If you're buying this book quite literally for a list of 'how tos and how not tos', then I can't fault it. But if you want a bit of personality to lighten what can be quite a stodgy read, then you might look elsewhere. I realise it's never going to be a gripping novel but I do think there are writing styles and techniques that could help.
