Joey
This is the best book of its kind that I've read. Joey graphically describes how he came to be in the mob and what he did when he got there.
There are chapters on the murders he carried out as well as the other activities from which he earned money such as gambling, bootlegging, loansharking and pornography (including a description of how he went about making a porno film).
This is essential reading and is distinquished from other books of the same type by a wry sense of humour and a high standard of writing. It would make a great film. Thoroughly recommended.
The Life and Crimes of a Mafia Hitman
Joey the Hitman was a Mafia gun for hire. In this book he tells the tale of how he became a killer, drug smuggler, loan shark etc etc.
The book does began to drag, as a lot of the time it is very repetitive. Saying that I still enjoyed the book, but would probably look elsewhere if I could go back in time.
