Synopsis
The Krays - Unfinished Business is a fascinating and revealing insight into the workings of the Krays and the criminal underworld of the 1960s. More explosive than any other book published before, the book uses previously unseen material and eyewitness accounts that expose the true nature of the Krays and their cohorts and will lay bare the facts behind some of the twentieth century's most notorious crimes. Central to the story are new insights into the murders they committed - and one they got away with - were not revealed to the public until January 2000 (and were first published in this book).
Customer Reviews
I had the misfortune to purchase this book
... I have read many true crime books and this has to be the worst. The authour never draws you in to the book and you don't ever feel like wanting to read on. If you do have the misfortune to buy this book skip the first 100 pages or so because they are totally irrevelant to the rest of the book.
FINALLY THE TRUTH ABOUT TONY "i never drink" LAMBRINO
For a man who was on every kray tv docu sticking up for the krays and how staunch he was how when he always looked in the mirror he knew he held his silence...................... Then this book came out and destroyed tonys reputation of being the loyal member of the firm he was'nt.
His so-called close pal frederick foreman the director of british crime (what ever that is suppossed to mean?) wrote a book with lambrino called "villains talking", this was discussed why tony did it blah blah blah..... Now if you read foremans book he talks about tonys brother chris (who at least had the balls to admit he wrote an appeal statement telling the truth about the murder of jack the hat mcvitie) and how he hates chris for destroying any chance of winning his appeal WELL blow me down !! fred has odviously softened with old age as he forgives tony for GRASSING....
There is and never has been any honour amongst thieves LOL..... these so-called old school villains (pardon the pun) make up the rules as they go along to suit there own needs.
Only a handful of people slated tony for what he did, Ron kray, Reg kray, Charlie bronson and Frankie fraser...... The rest refused to believe it even when the statement appeared. So make your own conclusions about the so-called underworld its not pretty its not romantic its full of treachorious people like lambrino hanging of the back of the kray story when in theory he was no better than the betrayers he so slated in his book like albert donaghue, lennie hamilton, jack dickson....
The director of british crime (ipml) went on TV knowing 100% that reg krays parole hearing was coming up and openly admitted he killed frank the mad axeman mitchel, destroying any chance reg had of parole or a move to a cat d prison. And to cap it all off he was such a pal of reg he couldnt even be bothered to go to regs funeral "all because he was not a pall bearer !!!!! how sad and pathetic of the man.
Theres nothing glamourious about these people, thank fully they are mostly dead or near on.
with pals like these who needs enemys ay?
The best book on the Krays for the intelligent reader ever written!
Fido begins with a potted history of London's organised criminal gangs and families, placing the Krays in their historical context. He avoids the crass romanticising of these men's lives that the hack writers of best-selling Kray "biographies" indulge in. Fido identifies the reality behind their activities - Evil.
