Miles Ahead...
Rather like the Sinatra set on Not Now Music this latest Miles Davis release brings together a huge amount of material. Total running time approx 204 minutes. The liner notes are from Michael Heatley again and the whole thing is well illustrated too. It includes no fewer than 6 albums which are in sequence `Round About Midnight 1956; Relaxin' with the Miles Davis Quintet 1956; Miles Ahead 1957; Cookin' with the Miles Davis Quintet 1956 (selections from); Ascenseur pour I'echafaud 1957 and Steamin' with the Miles Davis Quintet 1956. The personnel details are included and the sound quality is very good throughout. This is a rare opportunity to acquire so many definitive performances at a great price.

Great compilation of Miles Davis' albums from what I consider to be his best period.
