Red Faction: Guerrilla redefines the limits of destruction-based gameplay with a huge open-world, fast-paced guerrilla-style combat, and true physics-based destruction.

  • Open World Guerrilla Warfare: You decide who, when, where and how to battle. Utilise guerrilla tactics, improvised weaponry, and modified vehicles to lead insurgent attacks on EDF targets. Launch attacks based on your own gameplay style, take on missions in any order you choose, or engage in destructive activities to weaken the EDF's grip on Mars.
  • Strategic Destruction: Use destruction to your tactical advantage, setting ambushes or chain reaction explosions to attack enemy strongholds and permanently modify the game environment. Leverage fully-dynamic physics-based destruction to improvise on the fly: blow holes in a wall or floor to set an ambush or escape, take out a staircase to stop your pursuers, or drive vehicles through blown out walls.
  • Evolving & Emergent Gameplay: Carve your path through an ever changing landscape as you improvise your combat tactics - mixing gameplay styles, vehicles, weapons and explosives to defeat the EDF.
  • Epic Sci-Fi Setting: Explore the huge, unforgiving Martian landscape, from the desolate mining outpost of Parker to the gleaming EDF capital city of Eos, then tear through the fully destructible open-world environments swarming with EDF forces, Red Faction resistance fighters, and the downtrodden settlers caught in the cross-fire.

Red Faction ! *****5
This is a great game love it and it looks amazing it is really fun too free roam and you can destroy everything all things i run about just bringin down buildings with my sledge hehe :) great game great missions loads of side missions too makes the game really quick big and even more fun recommened it to any one loves the type of game were u can just run about and do what you want lol but also if you like a challange cause this game gives you some difficult missions :D

Rather good but windows live stinks.3
Having played the previous games and seeing the much touted 'Geo-mod' technology used in a limited fashion in the first two games, i was looking foward to seeing it with more power behind it. I was pleased by the result, being able to blow up buildings in rather realistic ways, even if the game runs a little creakily on my old pc. It is only a pity that the landscape is so sparse; although the buildings are beautiful to destroy, sometimes i have found myself wanting more to blow up. Despite this, single player is a pleasure to play.

However, windows live detracts from thbe experience; many people will tell you its awful for multiplayer, and generally a pointless waste of processing power. I have never been able to access multiplayer, and windows live refuses to work on my pc. I have never had problems with online multiplayer games, so i place the blame on this needless microsoft adware.

I would also like to point out that i have seen no evidence of the supposed 'DRM' on my version, so i must assume that the reveiwer who mentioned it is reffering to windows live, (you have to sign up to play- pointless).

All in all quite good, but in my case crippled by windows live...

Jack.

Great fun4
This game is fabtastic fun, it may not have the best story line or game-play in the world, like other I would have preferred a first person view.

However for a bit of escapism and to just blast the hell out of everything in sight you can't go wrong here, having come from Fallout 3 it has taken a bit of getting used to though.
