About the Author
Clare Beaton worked at the BBC for eight years, illustrating on many children's television programmes. She is now highly sought-after creator of handcrafted children's picture books. Clare has had nearly fifty books published, including One Moose, Twenty Mice (Barefoot Books, 1998) and Mother Goose Remembers (Barefoot Books, 2000), both of which have attracted considerable praise.

Another hit from Clare Beaton
There is a place for bright and bold illustrations, but that is not Clare Beaton's style. Her collages are made from fabric, detailed and delicate. Saying that, my 18 month old son adores her books and I think there is room for both the bold and obvious and the detailed, which requires perhaps a little more concentration. This treasury contains all the well known rhymes, plus some lesser known ones. Also buy the companion volume of playtime rhymes, for "Wheels on the bus" etc, and you will have a good set of poems and songs to share with your child. Feels like a book your grandmother once owned and none the worse for that!
