A good book -even if you don't agree with it!
Dr. John MacArthur writes from the perspective of what his Master's College calls 'Traditional Dispensationalism'. In other words, this is a commentary on the Book of Revelation from a Dispensational standpoint. Dr. MacArthur's usual exegetical skill seems to me at times to be blunted by the Traditional part of his theology (for example, whilst he recognises that the seven churches are seven literal churches, he still tries to get the pre-tribulation Rapture from the letter to the Church at Philadelphia). Nevertheless, MacArthur is very readable, and I would recommend this book to those who want to understand the Dispensational view of Revelation. It is difficult to put down, and MacArthur puts his case well - even if he didn't convince this reader!
