Not as good as some in this series
This has lots of basic ideas but is more in the form of lots of lists than some of the books in this great series.
Although it has some unusual & inspirational ideas many are common knowledge to all good teachers!

concise but useful.
A very simplistic but helpful book. It contains lists of items you will need to create a role play area, vocabulary,and suggests writing and numeracy activities that can be linked. It suggests different types of play activities - domestic, transactional, imaginary, and has a list of ideas for items to use and how to get them. It is excellent for practitioners who are familiar with the foundation stage curriculum as it is very concise and straight forward. If you are new to the foundation stage, however,and are requiring a more informative book it may
not be useful.Its size and format make it more transportable than lots of other practical books. This book covers many topics and also links with many texts. It would be good for foundation stage and KS1 practitioners. I use it a lot to set up interesting areas for an SLD class.
