TERRIFIC!
My Mum gave this book to me when I was younger and I love it.To me there is something "right" about this book.What an adventure ,the romance of the sea,the beauty of the coast,the characters,the excitement,the smugglers,the towers,the tunnels......This is Enid Blyton at her brilliant best and I thoroughly recommend this novel.

A jolly good read
I read (and re-read dozens of times) the first two books of the "Secret" series when I was a child and I wanted to rekindle some memories from 30 years ago! The first, The Secret Island, was relatively sedate and the memories trickled back. But Spiggy Holes is a galloping book with one close shave and adventure after another and the memories flooded back - rope ladders, coves, caves, beaches, dangerous tides, tunnels, shady villains, endless delicious food etc. If anything it all gets too hectic. I thought the final return to the Secret Island feels like a clumsy means of keeping the Secret Island in the series!

All these years later, Spiggy Holes still has the power to leave me falling asleep at night with my mind swarming with warm, happy images of endless sunshine, fruit laden trees, swimming, sleeping under stars on beds of heather and bracken etc.

I can't wait until my own daughter is old enough to experience the same as I am sure she will.

It was a book that I read and enjoyed as a child and being able to purchase a copy to replace the one I had lost was great.
