Manufacturer's Description
In sleek black, to go with some of today's newest MP3 and other audio players. Originally developed for professional musicians, the E2c combines Dynamic MicroDriver speaker technology with a sound isolating design to deliver rich, full-range sound while blocking outside noise -- ideal for enhancing your listening experience with portable MP3, DVD, and CD players as well as all other audio sources. The E2c's in ear design works like an earplug to block background noise naturally. This enables you to listen comfortably at lower volumes -- even in loud environments. And unlike bulky headphones utilizing active noise cancellation technology, no artifacts are introduced into your listening experience. Sound isolating earphones are also much smaller and don't require batteries. The E2c's speakers are constructed with studio-grade components, producing outstanding audio clarity that allows you to hear your music like never before. The E2c's cables pass behind the ear - out of sight and out of the way -- to provide a more comfortable, discreet fit. Plus, the E2c comes with a stylish, compact carrying case. The cable spool inside provides a convenient, tangle-free way to store your earphones.

    my review!5
at first i was really dissappointed with these headphones as they were very tinny and not bassy. They were fitted correctly and i really felt peed off for paying 50 quid. Over time i noticed the sound getting deeper and much better equalised, and now im in love with these headphones. a must buy!!!!

    Great entry level IEM4
I've used this for a couple of years already and love them. It isn't the best in-ear headphones, but for the price you do get what you pay for. Isolation is wonderful, believe me as I've been using it on numerous occasions while travelling inside a noisy Tube carriage. Leakage is minimal and I never had a complain regarding this by fellow passengers as well as my partner while I listen to music in bed.

With low impedance you won't have trouble driving these headphones. On my Walkman A818 for example I found it very comfortable listening to it at a volume level of 12 (out of 30). Sounds are rich and detailed, overall providing a richer enveloping sound than my partner's CX300. If I have to be picky I will say the bass is rather on the low side, and the low end aren't as detailed as mids and highs.

The only issue I had with it is the cable tears rather easily near where the cables loop over the ears. Unfortunately I've lost my receipt (I bought this 2 1/2 years ago) while moving, so I was unable to obtain a replacement. It wasn't Shure's fault that I was unable to present a proof of purchase. But I do think that they should have engineered the cable to be flexible enough thus minimising the risk of tear.

good but still not good enouth 3
ok to explane where i am in relation to the in ear monitor world, i have owned 3 pairs of etimotic resurch ER6i's then i got these, then i got some ultimate ears metro.fi 100's and i have just orderd some Westone UM1's the only headphones out of that list (exculding the Westones which havent even arived yet) which havent broken are these. i dont try and kill the things they just tend to break, i think when durability is concearned you need an L shaped jack rather than a straight up one.. these have that and a very beafy one!
working up from the gold plated heavy duty jack leeds on to quite a thick wire
this then leeds on to another beafy Y shaped link to split the wire, the two wires are then held together by a transparent plastic cover..thing this is to keep excess wire tidied away.
then mooves up to the join to the headphones, again well build and well designed i carnt see any of that part and indeed the headphones breaking within the warentie period.. which by the way is two years!
the headphone wire passes over the ear and then the monitors fit in to the ear kindove side ways.. so they dont stick out too much (i like this because they fit nicly under ear difenders! and dont get knocked out at all)
i am obviosly used to in ear headphones and i find them very comfortable! . they take a little getting used to but after a few weeks of good but slighly strange use you forget they are there and you think how the hell did i manage with normal headphones!
if you are woried about fit these have the widest selection of ear tips included in the kit i have seen! it realy is very nice and you can spend forever selecting what works best for you!. this will result in better comfort better sound and better isolation!! :)
    so its all good!
so a nice durable pair of headphones. i havent been blown away by sound quality base or clarity to tell the truth. although i am no sound expert. by brother however is and he absolutly loves the sound these things pack out! .. so shure must be doing sumthing right!
the only problem i have with them is the thick ness of the wire. it is not quite as cofortable as a thiner wire would be. and also the Y join is rather large. it can look abit like you have a third nipple if you were them under a shirt.
other than this a very nice and durable pair of headphones!!
