Customer Reviews

works out of the box, but annoying light display4
This USB hub, despite its fugly looks, does the job. As you would expect, it was automatically detected by Windows XP and so no driver was needed.

The light display is ridiculous because it repeats the same pattern over and over again and does not reflect its connected devices' I/O.

The light display pissed me off so badly that I destroyed the central flashing light. I now keep the device upside down.

This is a decent device though remember that you are getting 7 USB ports for a very cheap price.

Dazzling for the wrong reason - very bright annoying LEDs1
As soon as I powered this hub, I realised it would not get used. It immediately started a very very dazzling, bright disco light show. There does not seem to be any logic to the colours or patterns.

I wonder how much power is being used just for these ultra bright LEDs

I plugged in a few USB devices and they worked but due to the distracting light show, I soon put it into a cupboard.

I have now bought a plain old boring Belkin unit instead.

If I ever need more USB ports, it might come out again but will be hidden inside a box!

Turn that light off lady, there's a war on you know!3
Yes, this unit has the most garish flashing multi-coloured, cycling LED you can imagine. But the price isnt bad and guess what. Turn the thing upside down! :-) Worked for me. Shame that that LED is present as the other coloured LED's are quite attractive, if you like that sort of thing LOL. Its a USB hub, it comes with a power supply, if you want to make it a powered USB hub for scanners and the like but you dont always have to use it for most devices. It works, what more can I say, like reviewing a mains adaptor! :)
