Following the success of last year's book, this new annual features over 1,700 of the world's most luxurious wristwatches and provides color photographs and complete specifications for each watch. With "Wristwatch Annual", collectors have a wealth of information close at hand: the book is arranged alphabetically by producer, and within each producer's section are specifications and materials for each watch, including price, movement, special features, complications, case, dial, band, and available variations of a particular model.A glossary and pronunciation guide help acclimate the reader to the world of fine timepieces, and, for prospective buyers, the addresses of all featured producers are listed together. The elegant photography and layout will encourage people to peruse the year's offerings for aesthetic appeal as well. The range of styles, from classic to modern, reflects the inclusive nature of this book, which watch collectors around the world will find both a handy reference and required reading.

Customer Reviews

Nice, but no Japanese brands included3
This is a great catalogue for anyone interested in watches. However, there are some interesting omissions that make it somewhat less comprehensive - there are no Japanese brands included, so Seiko and Citizen are not included at all, which is a shame.

There's also a North American flavour to it, not just having all the prices quoted in USD, but some Swiss brands listed only appear to have distributors in the US (I've never seen them in the UK for instance). Not a bad thing, but something to be aware of.

The front third or so is mainly adverts as well.

One to get every few years perhaps, rather than on an annual basis.

Almost perfect4
Fine fascinating book/catalog.
These wristwatch annuals are essential for watch enthusiast.
Perhaps you dont need it every year, but at least every second year!

But, where are Japan brands (Seiko, Citizen, Orient (Star, Royal Star),
Russian brands (Poljot, Vostok) and Chinese movements/watches?

It's...."ok"2
This was my first watch book of any kind and as an introduction it's okay. As others have mentioned its missing several notable brands, and full of advertising. The reason several brands are missing though is because they have to pay to appear in the book. Prices are all in US dollars so not much relevance in the UK but they give you an idea of the price range. There is a smattering of watches from each brand, so if you're looking for large lists of information then forget it.

For the price of the book though it's probably worth picking up as an introduction, but serious watch collectors should look elsewhere.
