good work out
although you have to pay for delivery on this item unlike the ar 1, this has been reduced to equal it out. the machine is very bulky, solid and was easy to put together (takes two people). the chain is strong and reaches pas the end of the frame so your never going to find it to short, the footplates are easy to strap on and take of (3inch wide velcro straps) the footplates are metal and swivel well for easier rowing. i know some people have complained about the lack of tensioning or resistance adjustment, but i think its down to the individual.
i does give a pretty exhausting workout (im not looking to loose weight but tone and get a better cardio stamina) it obviously depends on how much you put in, and in what way you use the machine pulling yourself right back certainly works your muscles more and is a real test of stamina. i wouldnt buy this to loose weight or if your a bit lazy, because youd probably get bored and stick it in the garage etc.
you can really feel the heat in your muscles after working out, feels great.

good value for money product
recently purchased this due to the reduced price. The rowing machine was easy to unpack and put together. One comment I would make relates to the foot plates and velcro straps - I have small feet, size 5 and I found that my feet were always slipping out. the solution is to remove the velcro straps from the foot plate and velcro your feet to the footplate yourself. This worked fine and my feet didn't slip at all.

Delighted
Took my husband a while to construct machine due to bad screw gaps at seat part, but as he is a joiner it wasn't too much of a problem for him. Needs two people to lift machine when constructing for safety sake as it is heavy. Once built what a fab machine this is. I have found it easy and very enjoyable to use. Definitely recommend..
