Customer Reviews
Excellent short guide
This was a great find. It really helped fill in gaps that my other 2 guides didn't. My only complaint was the few colour pictures, most are in B&W. The descriptions were all accurate as far as I could tell and the cafe/restaurant recommendations were useful. The fact that it fits in a pocket was also handy.
Not up to usual Rough Guide Standards
We left this behind after our holiday since we felt it was not worth keeping. unlike other rough Guides, the format failed to give a feel to Funchal or Madeira. reading it did not give a sense of familiarity with the ground and the information in it, although comprehensive was hard to find.
More useful was Discovery Guide to Madeira.
Excellent General Review
This is an excellent, detailed guide book. Summarising the key sights and activities with colour photos at the beginning and then going into more depth later in the book. Definitley recommend this book as your guide to Madeira. And it includes a CD-ROM. Great value through Amazon.
