Great cleaner if your looking for bagless
I have been through 4 bagless cleaners by the other brand. This one was at
fantastic price and has a 6 year protection warranty. Very high suction and easy to use. You do have to put the cleaner together but instructions clear and did not have a problem with this (10 mins). The only thing is that it is a bit heavy so try before buying. Very well made (we will see)and easy to use. You can apply for the protection on line plus a letter comes posted to back this up.Very please with my purchase and about half the price you pay against the other brand you will foolish not to consider a vax. I don,t normally write reviews but this item is a bit of a bargain!

Fabulous machine for the fit
I already owned a cyclinder style Vax and had been very pleased with it but had reently used my son's upright Dyson on my caarpets and couldn't believe how much dirt was sucked up. Clearly I needed a different type of machine for the carpets. So... I searched and decided that Vax had always been good for me so I'd have the Mach 5.
I was delighted with the machine but have two quite significant criticisms.
The first would be simple for Vax to change. The lead to the machine is attached at the bottom - this means that it constantly seems to be in the way or one is vauuming over it - to cure this I've found that wrapping the lead up and over the handle solves the problem but not the irritation.
The second not so easy to solve - this is probably the heaviest macine I've ever used - both in use and weight. One needs to be quite fit to use it. Anyone with mobility issues or elderly might well find this more than a little inconvenient.
Would I buy it again? - though it does the job - probably not.

Absolutely useless!!!
I bought this model around 6 months ago to replace my basic Dyson DC07 because after reading reviews it appeared that this was just as good as the Dyson. WRONG! - it is far too heavy and does not pick up anywhere near as good as the Dyson. If you use the hose, the cleaner immediately falls over, probably because it is so heavy. Anyway, I have finally given in and have today received my new Dyson DC14 because I could not endure the frustration of trying to hoover with the Vax a minute longer. What a relief!
PS - If I could give it 0 stars, I would!!
