Utada's best tracks from her first 5 years
Dissapointed with Exodus? Well let's go back to the good old day's when Utada Hikaru was still a butter-wouldn't-melt J-Pop sensation.
Single Collection includes all her singles from the double A side "Time will tell / Atomatic" to her 2003 release "Colors" (covering the First Love, Distance and Deep River albums).
Through the CD (with tracks in their choronological order) you can hear Hikki's transformation from Pop to RnB to her soulfull and creative Deep River phase.
It's my favourite album because it beats carrying all my other precious three albums to college every morning, in fear of getting them nicked XD If you want to hear her at her best, this album definetly deserved it's top spot on the World Album charts.
Track listings (in order): time will tell, Automatic, Movin' on without you, First Love, Addicted to You (Up-in-heaven remix), Wait and See ~ RISUKU, For You, Taimu Rimitto (Time Limit), Can You Keep a Secret?, FINAL DISTANCE, traveling, hikari (light), SAKURA doropusu (cherry (blossom) drops), Letters, COLORS
Overall Very Good CD
Being a huge Ayumi Hamasaki fan, having found her accidentally on iTunes and then bought loads of her music while in Japan, I felt it was time to branch out and try a bit more J-Pop. Searching made me come across Utada Hikaru and having read many positive things, I decided to buy a nice safe Singles album.
And how good a choice it was. It is completely different from other J-pop I have heard, but it is excellent in its own way. I've only had it for a week but I've listened to it all and many of the tracks are great, especially Automatic, For You, Sakura Drops and Colors.
Would thoroughly recommend this for experienced Utada fans or for first-timers like me who want to sample her.
Track: Final Distance
I have this track, its good, sady in a way. The PV for this track is fitting (PV not included). This is song I've listen to most.
All her songs are good, some give a soothing voice, some fast pace. Her style is quite unique. Hikaru Utada is good, I think this would be a great CD to head start for people who wants to get to know Hikaru's style.
If you like Kingdom Hearts(/II) songs such as 'Simple And Clean'/'Passion' then you may just like her songs.
Also, look out for 'Boku wa kuma', 'Flavor of life', 'Exodus04'. :D
