Editorial Reviews
CD Description
After the success of 2007's acclaimed 'Hello Love', Cambridge indie-rockers The Broken Family Band release their fifth album. Rattling along in a similar vein to previous outings,'Please And Thank You' sees the band tackling romantic and social difficulties with their trademark brazen wit and radio-friendly tunes. Lead single from the album 'Salivating', for example, is a surprisingly raunchy tale set against a light bluesy accompaniment. 'Please And Thank You' is the firstof the band's records to be released on the respected Cooking Vinyl label.

Broken Family Band jusqt get better and better!!
The broken family band have undoubtedly changed their style from one of country folky roots that we could hear in their early releases to the more indie/pop sound that 'Please and thank you' suggests.
Please and Thank You is definately a giant leap away from those early country roots, and it would seem that the band have mastered a whole new genre. This album is full of catchy lyrics, some more pop based, and some having a slightly darker more thoughtful edge, such as 'Going to the movies would mean two hours without speaking'
The broken family band just seem to get better and better and their latest album is no exception to that rule!
Their best album yet!
Another top album from The Broken Family Band, this time a bit more rockin' and less of a country twang.
The tunes are even more catchy than before, the lyrics amusing and sometimes dark.
A really resounding success from the boys who seem to just get better and better! 5 Stars!
Brilliant, their best yet!
Love this, it follows the great British tradition of bands such as Squeeze but with a thoroughly modern twist. Hilarious lyrics in Borrowed Time ("In the old folks home... I'll have you on the stairlift"!!), great English realism in Cinema vs House ("We could go to the cinema, but that would be two hours without speaking") and really great rocking sounds. Sonically, the production and mastering are top notch - it sounds solid and exciting thanks to mixer George Shilling, the performances are terrific and every song is a winner. This should be huge - tell your friends!
