Manufacturer's Description
The speed and convenience of pressure cooking fits in perfectly with today's busy lifestyles. Prestige Pressure Cookers take just one third of conventional cooking time, cutting cost and saving energy. Food tastes better, retaining essential nutrients and vitamins making your meal more nutritional than most convenience foods. Pressure cooking makes light work of stocks, soups, vegetables, pasta, rice, cereal, poultry, meats, fish, desserts, preserves, chutneys, relishes and curries. The Prestige Smartplus Hard Anodised Duo Pressure Cookers features a directional pressure regulator which makes the steam release process both safer and easier. It comes with two pressure settings (8lb and 12lb) for versatility when cooking. The 6.0 litre pressure cooker is made from heavy gauge hard anodized aluminium that is twice as strong as steel for incredible durability and amazing heat distribution.

Principles Of Pressure Cooking: Under normal conditions water boils at a temperature of 100° C (212° F). This temperature is dictated by atmospheric pressure and cannot increase no matter how long boiling continues. The cook control on your Prestige Cooker increases the pressure inside the cooker which in turn raises the temperature at which the liquid boils. The result is faster cooking time because of the higher temperature obtained and at the same time the steam is forced through the food, cooking and tenderizing it.

The Advantages of Pressure Cooking: Speed: because of the high temperatures used in Pressure Cooking, foods are cooked very fast. Generally foods cooked in a pressure cooker will take 1/3 of the normal cooking time.Nutritional Value: loss of nutrients is reduced to a minimum from the short cooking times. Convenience: by using a pressure cooker to cook a complete meal or several foods at once, fewer saucepans are needed saving space in the cupboard and time washing up. Economy: fuel is saved, as cooking times are so quick and only one heating area is used. Versatility: delicious recipes can be cooked: from more traditional stocks, soups, casseroles, pasta, rice, cereals, pulses, fish, and vegetables.

    Fantastic Pressure Cooker 5
This is a wonderful pressure cooker; easy to use whilst producing tender mouth watering food, especially chicken, lamb and beef dishes.
The hard anodized aluminium is an excellent heat conductor which helps food to remain hot inside the closed pressure cooker for a long time after the heat source has been turned off.

    Very highly recommended.

    mine broke after 2 months2
I got this as a wedding present but its top valve broke just after two months. Its a good pressure cooker but not great quality. There are definately better ones out there. Its possible mine may have just been faulty.

    Poor quality1
Would not achieve full pressure due to leaky safety valve - very poor build quality, returned for refund.
