Dutch in three months
I was impressed with this course. The cds allow the student to practise the correct pronounciation which is so important for those just wanting to be able to hold a conversation, but the course also goes into spelling and grammer points, for the more serious student. Each point is made clearly with instruction being given as to where the usual patterns are not followed and which parts the student must learn by heart. Well worth the money

Language learning made easier.
I found the Dutch in 3 months course very easy to follow and enjoyable. The cassetes are an invaluable part of the course. Grammar points are well explained. Every chapter has revision exercises a speaking exercises. I liked the overall style of the book and the way was layed out.

little boring, not a converstaion course but a good start.
very good language course, a little bit boring, but has all the grammer (yawn) and structure (yawn yawn) you need. But with this course you start from the begining, and learn it properly. It's NOT a dutch conversation course.
The CD's really help with pronunciation, which I think is essential with Dutch as it sounds completely different to English, even though a lot of the words look the same, they are pronounced completely differently. I's aldo recommend Intertaal 'Taal Vitaal Nederlands voor beginners' (which makes learning Dutch fun) and 'Teach Yourself Dutch' (which has all the grammer but in dialogue form, which is also more fun!).
