Russian Vocab for Kids of All Ages5
One of a series of similar Foreign Language vocabularies, the Russian version would be a worthy addition to the study materials of a Russian Student of any age, looking to build basic and solid vocabulary. Numbers, colours, characteristics, clothing, parts of the body and everyday objects around the house, garden or street are just some of the words in the book.

Each item is labelled in Russian (with an English tranliteration) and whilst the odd one is a little difficult to determine what it is from the picture, there is a complete alphabetised Russian-English index.

There are a very small number of typographical errors, but nothing to deny a big 5 STARS for the surprisingly excellent book!

A great starting point5
While it's easy to dismiss this as a children's book and therefore too simple or basic, I've found that simple guides and children's books often provide the best foundations to build on when learning a completely new subject.
The cartoons provide the extra bit of fun that speeds up learning and helps you to recall the words. The words introduced provide a good spread of basic Russian nouns and give a good starting point for anyone who wants to move on to further, deeper study.

Excellent book for adoptive parents of Russian children!4
This picture book was great because we could look at it together with our Russian son. He helped us pronounce the words in Russian as we taught him the words in English. I highly recommend it for parents going to Russia to adopt. Very comprehensive. Great illustrations. (I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 only because it was lacking accents in the pronunciation guide; hence I didn't know which syllable to accent for best pronunciation. I would recommend that the next edition show which syllable is accented; then it would certainly merit 5 stars!)
