Get by in Portuguese
I have no knowledge of Portuguese and wanted to make a start in learning some basic words and phrases. I found the guide quite good, but it had one major fault - none of the words and phrases are repeated. The best guides always allow you to hear the pronunciation, repeat it and hear it again. It is the listen again facility which is missing. The printed guide is well produced and has proved useful.

Great Guide
This book really helps my husband and I as we travel to Portugal 2-3 times per year and are often off the beaten track where no English is spoken, very useful.

Decent introduction
Not a bad introduction, but it is not easy to follow the written material when listening to the CD
