Customer Reviews
Very detailed but don't make this your only choice of guide
There is much to commend this guide, which has a lot of useful and practical information. But while the Rough Guide layout works for the country guides which I have used, it makes for an irritatingly inaccessible jumble of facts and figures for this particular city. When on a short stay in a foreign city, you want everything to be just "there", but general information is towards the back when you would hope for it at the front; there is no easily available map (detailed arbitrary zonal maps spread throughout the text have to be individually researched); there are very few (Tram/bus/overground) network layouts and there are very few pictures. If you buy just one guide, buy the Insight guide, which knocks this book into a cocked hat, and only get this once you have it.
Not bad, but no good if you are after nightlife
All the best clubs we found in Budapest were not in this guide. Although the guide is not bad, I don't think its up to the usual high quality of the Rough Guides.
