From the Back Cover
Containing over 220 images with detailed captions, this book illustrates the first 125 years in the history of Birmingham City Football Club.

A mixture of action shots, team photographs, player portraits, programmes, cartoons and other significant items cover the Blues from their early incarnation as Small Heath Alliance, through entry into the Football League in 1892 and various ups and downs - including several promotions, two FA Cup finals, the winning of the League Cup and two European Fairs Cup finals - right up to the present day. Special attention is paid to the great players that have served the club, such as Harry Hibbs, Joe Bradford, Gil Merrick, Malcolm Page, Terry Hennessey, Trevor Francis and Bob Latchford.

With detailed captions from football historian Tony Matthews, this pictorial record is essential for anyone with an interest in Birmingham City and will delight both young and old supporters of the team.

Keeping on a very long road5
I purchased this for my son who like myself is misguided enough to be a Birmingham City fan.Supporters of other clubs may feel the history of the blues would be a series of blank pages but quite the opposite. This is a facinating history of a club that has been around a very long time and had its place to play in the history of British football. The book is packed with interesting facts, pictures, players and events from over a century of football. I just hope the next century is a tad more sucessful.
