A must-have book for any Reiki practitioner's bookcase.5
If you are a Reiki practitioner, this is definitely the book to read. To some it may be controversial, but bringing together the thoughts of three Reiki Masters in one publication makes for fascinating reading. Lubeck, Rand and Petter have spent many years researching and have discovered some fascinating information concerning the evolution of Reiki from Dr Mikao Usui to the present day. Well worth reading more than once!

Excellent for reference and everything else!5
I bought this book when i knew relatively little about Reiki and I have learned a lot from it. But I think that it is more a book you should read when you have recieved Reiki 1 or have some prior knowledge of the basics of Reiki.
It gives you many Japanese techniques and a well written 'scientific explanation' for the Reiki phenomena. DO NOT MISS IT!

Hands-on healing explained5
This book is remarkable because it was written by three different Reiki Masters from different lineages and backgrounds. It contains new insights on this gentle form of hands-on healing based on the work of Dr. Mikao Usui.

The wide variety of topics includes an analysis of the way Reiki evolved in the West, the likely way in which it might develop in the future, the search for a scientific explanation of Reiki energy, Reiki as a spiritual path, the practice of Reiki in Japan and the latest assessment of Usui’s original healing modality.

In addition there are discussions of the Reiki symbols, definitions of the healing method and a look at the relationship between student and teacher. The history of the discipline is covered in chapters on Dr. Usui, Chujiro Hayashi, Hawayo Takata and other personalities, along with some of their personal writings.

The book includes 150 photographs and black and white illustrations. It is a great work that looks at Reiki from all angles. I highly recommend it together with Paula Horan’ book The Ultimate Reiki Touch.
