Synopsis
What will you do if you are unable to buy groceries or gasoline, or are unable to go to work or leave your home for a week? Two weeks? A month? How will you obtain the goods you need to survive? Don't rely on others to provide for you and your family in a time of need. If a natural disaster, personal crisis, or terrorist act disengages you from the mainstream for several weeks or months, you need to be prepared to survive on your own, with no help from the government or others, until the crisis has passed. This book will guide you through the necessary steps you need to take to become self-sufficient for a short-term disaster situation. It will also encourage you to add your own ideas to customize your plan of action to fit your own individual needs. You will end up with a vast knowledge that will separate you, the educated and prepared, from those who will only rely on others for their needs.

Customer Reviews

Small, but perfectly formed...4
Now, I have to admit at the outset, that when I first received my copy,I was somewhat disappointed. It looked more like a pamphlet than a book.

However (and it's a BIG however,) it does contain a great deal of useful and practical information, which is a great deal more applicable than some of the guff I've read in other works. If, like me, you're convinced that the world is going to go belly-up in spectacular fashion, and sooner rather than later, then this is a useful and friendly guide to getting you through the bad times. Okay, some of the stuff in it could be categorised as '...Stating the bleedin' obvious...', but for the completey clueless, or those new to the idea of self-reliance, I think it's a winner, and an excellent starting point.

It also challenges your personal perceptions of your preparedness and that of the world around you. It forces your thought processes down avenues that they'd probably be scared to death of in the dark. But that, dear reader, serves a very useful purpose, and this excellent little book (Yes, I know I keep saying it's small, but it really is!)will serve as a beacon in that darkness.

Buy it. You could spend an awful lot more for an awful lot less. It's not Ray Mears, it's not Lofty Wiseman. It's not fixated on desert, jungle, or arctic survival techniques. It does exactly what it says on the tin...albeit an American tin.
