The Rough Guide to Montenegro4
Rough Guides aren't rough at all, they are alwways very concise in areas such as transport and accomodation which is why I choose them above other travel guide brands.
The Rough Guide to Montenegro isn't, however as up to scratch as Rough Guide to Norway or Croatia. The author repeatedly uses the word "ragbag" which I dislike and my copy had a firm but sticky mess on the spine that despite hot water and the back of knife is still present. I presume this occured during the lamination but I doubt this would have occured had the book been printed and bound in England. It is however bound and printed in China, no doubt the reason for this gloopy spine, they may be cheaper than British labour but their workmanship is far far poorer.
Despite this I am greatly pleased with the Rough Guide to Montenegro and there is such in depth information covering all aspects of travel with a language section at the back and contexts on Montenegrin culture. There are maps for all major towns and cities which ofcourse is very helpful. Prices are listed for everything from buses, to hotel rooms, to water taxis. Times of opening for attractions, post offices and tourist information centres are also detailed, something which is rarely found in other guides. As do all Rough Guide it contains an array of colourful and dramatic pictures.
Despite my slightly bad experience I would still recommend this book, I'm sure many others wouldn't have such a problem with "ragbag" as I do and maybe some prefer to have a gloopy spine?
