Product Description

The third edition of The Juicy Guide to Brighton and Hove hits the shelves of the city's best bookshops in time for the May Festival with its unique no ads policy towards its restaurant, pub, club, bar and shopping reviews.

A godsend for the thousands of new locals, Juicy has become a relocation bible with a guide to the various neighbourhoods in the city. It's now set to become the only ad -free reference guide for the thousands of locals who value Juicy's sassy opinion and upbeat recommendations for getting the best out of life in Brighton and Hove.

This year, a brand new directory lists the best businesses from painters, decorators, plumbers and builders to graphic designers, computer specialists and recruitment agencies as well as the best alternative therapists in the city. The Juicy Selection invites only those who have been recommended by readers and the Juicy network to appear in its directory which gives locals - new and old - the most useful address book in town.

Thank you for The Juicy Guide. I moved my family from Durham, 350 miles away because of it.

I love your style. It makes us feel much more confident about making such a big move.

...canny enough to realise the same people might be interested in a Mr Scruff gig and schools for their children.

A relocator's bible5
This is the fifth edition of The Juicy Guide, with bigger maps, websites, opening times and all sorts of information. The content is all updated on the subscription based website, www.mapminder.co.uk where members can ask locals in depth information about living and working in Brighton and Hove. The guide is also unique in that readers are able to email the editor for any information they might need and get independent, reliable information for free!

Pity the reviews haven't been updated3
I bought the first juicy guide when it came out, and having recently moved to Brighton found the reviews helpful if a little one-dimensional. Things change pretty quickly in this town and so a couple of months ago I decided to buy the 'completely updated' recent edition. I was very disappointed to discover that most of the reviews were identical word-for-word to the original - for example one unfortunate restaurant was still being criticised for the over-enthusiastic use of table polish that had occurred on a single visit to the place two years ago. Neither fair nor very helpful I think. Also given the title of the guide, practically no attention is paid to Hove, notably the absence of reviews for Latino and La Piazza, two of the busiest restaurants that side of the statue. In conclusion, a useful guide to an interesting city but I wouldn't bother buying the latest copy if you already have the original.

Borders Review in Latest Homes, Brighton5
Three years old and still no signs of teething troubles. The guide is fresh and informative about all things Brighton and Hove. Even about things we thought we knew about - restaurants, bars, theatre, kids, sport and a lot more besides. Well set out, conveniently sectioned and small enough to carry around, Juicy Guide is a necessity for all year round.
