Great read on the Essex underworld
Essex Boys - The New Generation is centers around the death of Dean Boshell, a 26 year old wannabe gangster reportedly murdered by friends. These boys take up the mantle from where the original Essex Boys left off, not an enviable position seeing as the original 3 Essex boys ended up dead having been blown away at point blank range with a shotgun!

Bernard O'Mahoney was banned from visiting Ricky Percival, the man named as the murderer who is now serving 26 years in Prison. Ricky was sentenced when he was 27 which will mean that when he is released, he will be 53. The main reason behind Mr Percival's incarceration is because of the testimony of a supergrass and not the actual evidence, a common issue with today's justice system seemingly. In fact, there is evidence not taken into account that could actually shatter the case against Percival if revealed and appeals are currently underway.

I truly recommend this book for an insight in the world of British crime and the mentality within it. A fascinating read and brilliantly written.
