Brilliant game, totally absorbing!
I've never played this sort of game before (having only used my Christmas-present DS for the likes of Scrabble and brain-training up until now!) and was a little worried that I'd find the game too hard to get into (I'm the sort who really hates reading manuals!) or 'too young' - but after 5 minutes or so of picking up the game (and a quick glance at the accompanying guide) I had no problems at all! The plot is really interesting, and the game itself is great fun, and even though suitable for youngsters is equally absorbing for a 40-something like me - and some of the dialogue is hilarious! It's just seen me through a rainy weekend away, and made the 300-mile car-journey fly by! (Thankfully I wasn't driving!) I've nearly finished it now - and can't wait for the next one to come out! The only ones not quite so impressed with it are my kids - who haven't had the chance to play it yet, and have had a weekend of total role-reversal with ME seeminingly ignoring THEM for a change! ("Mum? MUM!!!! I'm talking to you!!!! OI!!! Can't you put that game DOWN for a minute?) Brilliant!
Classic Game is back...
The DS is a great console, perfect for playing anywhere. I though the touch screen was a gimmick when I first read about it. But every know and again a game comes along that makes you fully appreciate it.
Broken Sword is a classic game and works flawlessly on the DS. It is the perfect mix of adventure and witty one liners and will keep you amused for some time.
Hopefully if this is a success the rest of the series will be ported over to the DS.
Amazing
This is an extremely good port of a classic point and click game. The use of both screens is a very welcome idea in that you see the top screen in close up conversations with characters and the bottom screen as the main window.
Even though I've only played the game for about 20 minutes I can't wait to see what new additions and how the ds will tell the story of one of my favourite games of all time.
Must buy for anyone who likes the broken sword series.
